Location
Scarborough is a bustling fishing port with two sandy bays and some elegant buildings dating back to Georgian times and earlier. From the harbour you can take sea trips by pleasure steamer north to Whitby or south to Cayton Bay and Bempton Cliffs. Knipe Point forms the northern boundary of Cayton Bay with its beautiful sandy beach and cliffs. The bay attracts surfers all year round. There are numerous walks, on the walk to Filey seals are daily seen basking on the rocks below. There are several fine golf courses in the area

North of Scarborough is Whitby and the North York Moors National Park . The best known village in the park is Goathland , which features as Aidensfield in the TV series ‘Heartbeat'.
The North Yorkshire Moors Railway runs from Pickering to Grosmont. Other beautiful villages in the area include Robin Hoods Bay , Thornton Dale  and Hutton le Hole

To the south are the resorts of Filey and Bridlington , the old market town of Beverley and the Yorkshire Wolds . At Bempton Cliffs , with its RSPB centre, can be seen many species of sea birds, the puffins are especially popular.

To the west are Castle Howard , Rievaulx Abbey and York with its famous city walls, Minster, Jorvik Centre, National Railway Museum, quality shops and numerous other attractions. In the bungalow are various maps and guides with more detailed information of the area.
